Nisa is a dedicated Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional in Rhode Island with over a decade of experience in the behavioral health field. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Dependency and Addiction Studies from Rhode Island College, Nisa’s diverse professional background includes dual diagnosis counseling, clinical supervision, and program management. She has made a significant impact across various settings, including outpatient clinics, residential facilities, and group homes, where she has effectively supported clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

 

Nisa specializes in providing individualized counseling for a broad range of behavioral health concerns, including dual diagnoses, substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and executive function difficulties. She is passionate about working in the community utilizing her knowledge and experience to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where clients feel understood and valued.

 

Her extensive experience as a Counselor and Addictions Specialist includes developing person-centered treatment plans, providing crisis interventions, and coordinating care with external organizations to ensure comprehensive support for her clients. As a Clinical Supervisor and Health Home Team Coordinator, Nisa has overseen clinical operations, supervised senior counselors, reviewed clinical records for quality assurance, and contributed to the development of culturally sensitive program initiatives.

 

Nisa’s therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based models such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). However, she believes in an eclectic, personalized approach that allows her to deliver the most effective care for each client’s unique needs while considering their cultural and social contexts. Her holistic understanding of the intersection between mental health, addiction, and cultural identity empowers her to support clients in achieving meaningful and lasting change.
